["This was really lucky for Peter otherwise he wouldn't have been chosen to attend the course."] Thursday April 10 Freetown 10:30 pm: All the assessments have been completed. After Ricardo came back last week. He continued doing the assessments. After 4 days of the assessments it was really necessary for me to write up my findings so I was glad to spend some time in the base writing up my reports this week. I was a bit surprised that Ricardo returned to a few villages I had already been to. Ricardo said that the trip reports I had written were so fascinating that he wanted to see the villages for himself. I told him this was a bit of a waste of time as all was covered in the reports. Sometimes I feel Ricardo just wants to make work for himself. Well this weekend I am in Freetown for R&R, Petra and Ricardo also came as we will have a meeting on Monday to discuss the direction of the programme. I spoke to Claudia on the weekend and she asked if I was interested in taking the level 4 Logistic Coordinator course with Hope International in Paris in the beginning of May. Peter will also be attending the course. Claudia said she had been asked to nominate two staff in the country. I spoke to Ricardo about this and he said that he had turned the course down because he wanted to stay in Watsan. This was really lucky for Peter otherwise he wouldn't have been chosen to attend the course. We all went out on Saturday night with the Freetown team and had a really good time. Anne is still going out with her boyfriend Frederic. Claudia also came along for a while. I even bumped into Nahreen from UNHCR pretty late in the night at DeMilles. I told her that I thought the organisation of the trip for Angelina was not that great. She seemed to agree, although it was pretty loud in the night club and I am not sure if she really heard. Then she had to go to the toilet and we didn't get to catch up again. Well I'm looking forward to the meeting on Monday as there are a lot of issues to discuss. I suggested a discussion topic to Claudia that she said she would think about putting on the agenda. The topic was: "Are assessments necessary to start a new project".
