["I am working on priorities at the moment... Ricardo's room will have to wait."] Friday January 7th 8:20pm
Claudia has made Peter the interim Logistics Co-ordinator for Hope. Already it has gone to his head he has asked my to give him a full report on the expenditure so far on the rehabilitation he has cancelled the order for crazy paving (saying it is to expensive and not strong enough for our purposes) he then came to visit on Wednesday and said that I can't go ahead with the veranda on the house. It is really sad that Peter has made things personal. After all I am not doing this rehabilitation for myself it is to help those little kiddies that don't have access to enough food, health care and life saving humanitarian relief supplies. This base will be vital to ensure there humanitarian access. Peter has been really petty just as he left he told me not mix colours to make up the colours for painting as this will add a lot to the cost. I explained that it was impossible to get a good Sienna Cream without doing this and he even laughed thinking I was making a joke. This guy has really gone to far. I think I will complain to Claudia when I go to Freetown next week for the Country Programme meeting. Well despite Peter the rehabilitation is going really well. Abdulai managed to get me the pot plants like the ones at the primary school and we managed to get the roof on. I gave the boys a bit of a hand, well for a few minutes it was really hot up. The office interiors and the living quarters are really starting to take shape. Abdulai's boys are working really fast. We should be ready in two weeks. There is going to be a water and sanitation engineer coming to our programme. He is called Ricardo from Spain and he will arrive next week. I will move to Kamekwilu next week and I have told Petra her room will be ready so she can move in. Ricardo's will be ready maybe two weeks after. But I am working on priorities at the moment and Ricardo's room will have to wait. Thanks for all those that have written into the discussion page and the letters I have received from my column in the Wollongong Courier. |
