["...it could be trouble for myself and Hope...."] Wednesday October 27th 10:20pm No phone, no generator I got a letter from Laurent and he asked me not to write anymore situation reports as a lot of my information was very controversial and if it got into the wrong hands then it could be trouble for myself and Hope, he thanked me anyway. He then said that my book-keeping had caught the attention of our main donor and that they wanted to visit the project to see what is going on. Spent yesterday in the feeding centre playing with the kids and talking to the mothers about there problems. After that I went into town and got some really cool clothes a bit like what Claude used to wear. I guess I will be a bit less conspicuous now. Still no generator and phone. I can't get into the computer to look at my job description so I have written my own. I am not really sure what I should show the donors, but I guess the most important thing is to show them what we do and act natural. I think if you go to too much trouble, the donors will see right through the whole show and then they will start to think your covering things up. So I going to just keep it real, show them some hospitality and what is really like to work in the field. I told James and Peter about the visit, and they seemed really concerned. In fact James started to really sweat profusely and started to talk about how he could get more beneficiaries into the feeding centre. They asked me when the visit would be and I said it is supposed to be a surprise visit. I assumed that it would be in two weeks or something. Well I said again let's just show the donors how we do things normally and sure show them hospitality but lets not go to any special effort. Well I'm pretty tired so I better get some sleep. |
